KUCHING: Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan hopes to be able to set up a furniture city in Sarawak this year. “At the moment, we are looking for the right location and we have been in contact with many groups to discuss how we are going to create a furniture city,” he said. He added that Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg had agreed to let Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) lead the endeavour. He said this at a press conference held after the STIDC Special Gathering 2020 at Wisma Sumber Alam, Petra Jaya here yesterday. 6 young Sarawakians to showcase designed furniture pieces in Milan

Kuching, Feb 27 ; Six young Sarawakians designers have been accepted to showcase their designed products at the Milano Design week in Milan, Italy in the second quarter of this year. Serba Dinamik to launch D’Virtual Park in March

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 9 -- Serba Dinamik Group Bhd plans to launch D'Virtual Park, Malaysia’s first virtual reality theme park which uses hologram technology in March this year. Group managing director/group chief executive director Datuk Dr Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah said the soft launch for the park, located in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak, is expected to be held in the first week of March. "The park is almost ready. We have been working with quite a number of institutions and we are also in contact with some tourism agencies as well as regulators,” he told Bernama recently. Mohd Abdul Karim said the park is expected to attract 500,000 visitors within the first year of its opening. The company had invested RM13 million to develop the D’Virtual Park -- RM8 million for its development and RM5 million in its collaboration with Startup Borneo. He said the collaboration with Startup Borneo will provide a huge networking opportunity for start-ups in the digital technology segment. KUALA LUMPUR: Borneo’s very first virtual reality (VR) theme park is expected to be launched in Kota Samarahan, Sarawak by Serba Dinamik next month.
