Our club will be hosting a HOLIDAY MARTIAL ARTS CAMP 2018. It is a collaboration with the Parent Teachers Association and School Management Board of SK (A) Datuk Haji Abdul Kadir Hassan and the support by Anak Sarawak Digital Media.It is the first of its' kind in Kuching, perhaps in Sarawak. Sarawak’s unique cultures, arts must be preserved – Abg Johari

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said Sarawak’s unique cultures and arts should be preserved at all times even though it is now the era of information technology (IT). He said cultures and arts must be preserved and promoted through IT to the world. “Through IT, we can showcase our villages to attract people to our culture and that is why the state government is taking these initiatives to develop the Malay villages, where we will develop the infrastructure but still maintain our culture,” he said when launching the Malay Heritage Festival 2018 at Satok Sports Complex on Sunday night. Sekolah Luar Bandar Dapat Bantuan Pembelajaran STEM Dari UNIMAS

Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) sedang giat membantu Kerajaan Negeri Sarawak meluaskan dan memajukan pembelajaran Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics(STEM) di sekolah bandar dan luar bandar.  Kemajuan sesesuah negara pada masa ini turut bergantung kepada kemahiran dan kepakaran dalam bidang sains, teknologi, kejuruteraan dan matematik.  UNIMAS telah menubuhkan Jalinan Komunit STEM untuk melaksanakan program pendidikan ini. Pada 7 Oktober 2017 program STEM ini telah diadakan di Sekolah Kebangsaan Kampung Kelali, Sadong Jaya dalam Bahagian Samarahan.  Profesor Datuk Dr. Mohamad Kadin Suaidi, Naib Canselor UNIMAS telah menyampaikan peralatan STEM bernilai RM10,000 ringgit kepada Guru Besar yang diwakili oleh PK1, Encik Hamali Lazim.  Sumbangan tersebut mengandungi peralatan pembelajaran dan lima buah komputer. Turut hadir di acara tersebut adalah Timbalan Saintis Utama Kerajaan Negeri Sarawak, Prof. Dr. Al-Khalid Othman, Pengarah, Institut Pengajian Borneo, Prof. Madya Dr. Shahren Tun Zaidi dan Dekan Pelajar, Prof. Dr. Othman Bojo. Experience traditional activities at Malay Heritage Festival this weekend

KUCHING: Kuchingites as well as visitors will have the opportunity to experience a host of traditional activities during the Malay Heritage Festival 2018. The festival, the fi rst of its kind held here, will take place this Saturday and Sunday at Satok Sports Complex, SLPAS field, with Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg slated to officiate at the event on Sunday at 7.30pm. More than 15 heritage programmes will be held with the aim of making the festival a memorable one for locals and tourists, in experiencing Malay heritage nostalgia. The festival is part of Kampung Heritage – one of the four components of Old Kuching Heritage which is one of the initiatives under the Sarawak Digital Economy Strategy for 2018-2022. Dalam sebuah wacana baharu, Juh Ngeteh, seorang sejarawan muda, Samsol Bujang, telah membincangkan tajuk, “Ada Apa Dengan 31 Ogos?” di Sarawak di Bandaraya Kuching pada 25 Ogos 2018. Wacana yang serentak dilancarkan hari ini telah dianjurkan oleh Ikatan Graduan Melayu Sarawak (IGMS) di Pusat Sumber Tun Openg, Jalan Datuk Ajibah Abol, sebuah dewan yang diuruskan oleh Amanah Khairat Yayasan Budaya Melayu Sarawak. Samsol yang berkelulusan Sarjana Pensejarahan Melayu dari Institut Pengajian Borneo, Universiti Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) mengatakan bahawa majalah rasmi kerajaan negeri, Sarawak Gazette, telah mencatatkan 31 Ogos 1963 itu sebagai Sarawak mencapai “self-government” dalam bahagian kronologinya.  Di samping itu, hujah beliau lagi, pada malam 31 Ogos 1963, En. Malay Heritage Festival 2018 in Kuching from Oct 27- 28

KUCHING, Oct 19 (Bernama) -- Members of the public in and around the city here are invited to attend the 2018 Malay Heritage Festival in the compound of Satok Sports Complex in Jalan Muhibbah from Oct 27 to 28. Sarawak Public Communication Unit said 15 unique kampung activities would be held during the two-day programme. “Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in kampung heritage activities. The programme under Old Kuching Heritage will be made into an annual event,” it said in a statement here today. General Manager of AKYBMS, Datu Dr Sanib Said told The Borneo Post that the 7th Malay Cultural Seminar’s theme would be ‘Managing Culture in the Digital Era’. To date 800 participants from the Malay, Anaq Vaie and Jati Meirek communities have confirmed their participation.
