IAViC2019 Forum 2: Recent Advances of Vibration Technology Applied in Vehicle and Transportation Engineering

The invited Panels were: Assoc Prof Dr Ir Zainal Fitri Zainal AbidinMr. Kazuhito KatoMr. Izwan SabriMr. Abdul Qaiyum Over-Arching Principles Overall point of discussion focusing on the transportation perspective that combine all related aspects. Covered aspect and focal discussion arise, followed the theme of conference which is condition monitoring into the era of IR 4.0 and current situation of Malaysia to adopt the new approaching of technology of IR 4.0 and relates with the noise and vibration by using IoT interrogation into transportation perspective. Vision Condition monitoring with embedded sensors to provide continuous and real-time data acquisition and analysis of a machine and transportation by placing permanent sensors is a practice in CM, and can be a good start for monitoring high value assets, especially using vibration analysis. Optimum sourcing of replacement parts can arranged and scheduled with minimum downtime. A range of new technologies that are fusing the physical, digital and biological worlds, impacting all disciplines, economies, and industries. The challenges & technologies Machine learning...

Issues and Potential in Human and Machine Vibration

Issues and Potential in Human and Machine Vibration

The main theme of the industrial revolution 4.0 is cyber-physical systems; systems in which sensing, computation, networking and physical processes are connected, controlled and monitored by algorithms. While most of the discourse on IR4.0 revolves around the advanced machineries, equipment and sensors, discussion on human factors are often put aside. The IMM International Applied Vibration Conference (IAViC) 2019 were aware of this and invited expert panels from the vibration industry and academia to talk about the issues of human and machine vibration. IAViC2019 Forum 3 moderated by Dr. Ahmad Salahuddin Mohd Harithuddin from UPM The summary below touches on the few topics that were discussed based on the session moderator. The invited panels for the topic above were Prof Reza Jazar of RMIT University and Dr Amzar Azizan of the Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (MIAT), representing the research universities; Mr Shahriman Sahib from the WESTSTAR Aviation and Ir. Sundralingam Muthanandan from Petronas representing the industries. Over-Arching Principles The forum started with the panels defining the meaning of ‘human and machine...
