Fund to facilitate youths’ entry to creative industry

KUCHING: Minister of Youth and Sports Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah has once again called upon all talented young Sarawakians to apply for capital under the Sarawak Youth Creative Industry Fund. According to him, the Sarawak government has set aside an allocation of RM9 million, slated for youths who want to venture into the creative industry. Sesa laying framework for esports devt in Sarawak

KUCHING: Sarawak Esports Association (Sesa) yesterday appreciated the remarks of Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican that Sarawak is serious in developing the esports industry in the state. The minister commended the initiative taken by Sesa and the private sector in setting up the Sesa Mini Esports Hub at D-Virtual Park in Kota Samarahan recently. “This esports arena covers 7,000 sq ft and is equipped with 60 gaming computers, six streaming rooms, as well as rooms for holding conferences, discussion and management,” Reezal said during his ministerial winding-up speech in Parliament on Wednesday. “Apart from the esports facility, the Youth and Sports Department Sarawak is also very active in organising esports activities and programmes such as the online esports competitions Myesports PUBG from July 18 to 26 and the Myesports PS 20 from Aug 1 to 9,” he added. KUALA LUMPUR (July 29): The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia (KKMM), via its agency Malaysia Digital Economy Corp (MDEC), will be working closely with the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) to partner with more tech companies such as Acestar, AWS, Cisco Academy, Microsoft, Oracle, Quandatics, and SAS Institute to create digitally-skilled faculty experts and graduates. KOTA KINABALU: Sabah is set to produce skilled manpower in the nation’s aviation industry as the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) Aerospace Training Centre collaborates with big companies on aircraft maintenance training and anchor vendor initiatives. The companies are MASwings Sdn Bhd, Layang-Layang Aerospace, Mega Aerospace Sdn Bhd and CAAC Malaysia Sdn Bhd for on-the-job training; as well as Bataras Sdn Bhd and the Department of Industrial Research and Development for anchor-vendor development programmes. Abang Johari: 36 new telco towers to enhance digital connectivity

KUCHING: Thirty-six locations in Betong, including Pusa, have been identified as the site for erecting new telecommunication (telco) towers to enhance digital connectivity. In pointing this out today, Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said 32 of these projects are in the process of being implemented, out of which nine will be completed in the near future. “Four of these new telco towers have been completed. We are going to build more to improve network connection. Said sebagai Ahli Lembaga Penasihat Arkib Negara Malaysia petang tadi.  Nancy merupakan Menteri Pelancongan, Seni dan Budaya Malaysia yang bertanggungjawab kepada pelbagai jabatan dan agensi Kerajaan Persekutuan termasuk Arkib Negara Malaysia yang mempunyai cawangan di negeri Sarawak. Nancy berkata dengan kelayakan dan pengalaman yang luas, Sanib akan mampu memberikan sumbangan kepada kemajuan Arkib Negara Malaysia di peringkat kebangsaan.
